Gas Airsoft Pistols
Gas airsoft pistols are the premier in the airsoft industry. These airsoft pistols have the highest fps (feet per second) rate than spring or electric airsoft pistols, and tend to have a much more realistic look and feel than other airsoft pistols. Gas airsoft pistols use either a green gas or CO2 chamber to propell the ammunition through the air. Gas airsoft pistols can be purchased in a old school six-shooter style, 1911 gun style, or even a full auto mac 11 style. The HFC green gas revolvers, though they are six shooters, have a real life look, are made of metal alloys and/or zinc, and fire at high fps rates. There are two primary types of gas airsoft pistols:
- Gas Blowback (GBB) Pistols
These pistols include an automatic recoil feature that snaps the slide or hammer back after firing. This action gives the gun an amazing realistic firing experience, and is coveted among airsoft enthusiasts.
- Gas Non-blowback Pistols
These gas airsoft pistols do have the realistic recoil option that the GBB pistols have. However, these pistols still utilize the same type of green gas or CO2 chamber to fire the ammo, and thus retain all the other benefits of gas airsoft pistols.
Gas Airsoft Pistols for Training
If you are looking to have a full scale, live training exercise for police tactics or military play, the gas airsoft pistol is probably the best option. As close as you can get to the real thing, without the danger of injury or worse provides the highest level of simulation. If cost is an issue, go for an electric airsoft pistol, giving you the automatic reload, but at a discounted price.
Gas airsoft pistols provide the most realistic and intriguing experience of all the airsoft pistol types. But, with the best, comes the higher price. Some gas airsoft pistols can easily be over $100 to purchase. Also, gas replacement chambers are higher in cost than new batteries. But if you want to be a serious airsoft player, consider getting a higher end gas airsoft pistol.
